Important societal non-profit based in DC seeks Spanish-speaking PR and Media Relations Manager
TorchLight Hire is seeking a Spanish-speaking Media & Press Relations Manager to coordinate media for an advocacy-focused non-profit organization in DC. This role will manage a portfolio of issue-based work and will be an important part of the organization’s press team. Qualified individuals must be fluent in Spanish and English with two (2) + years of relevant media relations experience.
Location:
Qualified applicants are in the Washington, D.C., or Northern VA areas. FULLY REMOTE candidates also encouraged to apply. U.S. citizenship or a permanent residency card in the U.S. is required to be an eligible candidate for this opportunity.
Employment:
Full-time, direct hire role, 40-hours per week. Can be fully remote OR hybrid position in Washington, DC with additional flexibility to work from home.

Role responsibilities:
- Act as main media POC for all Spanish-language press inquiries
- Develop and execute an outreach plan to Spanish-speaking media
- Manage all portfolio-related press requests in an efficient manner
- Schedule interviews with appropriate in-house experts and set up prep sessions
- Write and edit press releases, media alerts, statements, etc.
Skills and experience:
- MINIMUM of two (2) + years of relevant experience in PR and/or media relations; Spanish fluency is mandatory
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and writing skills in both Spanish and English
- Prior track record of working with the media, including success in proactively pitching stories
- Experience working with media management systems such as Vocus, Cision and Meltwater
