Seeking dynamic Senior Business Development Manager for fast-growing DC-based organization

TorchLight is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to join a fast-growing organization located in the Washington, DC area. The Senior Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, closing, onboarding and managing relationships with partners in the Federal government space. The manager will oversee a high-performance team of professionals and ensure partnership and business objectives are met.

Qualified applicants must be located in the Washington D.C. or Baltimore metro areas. No relocation assistance is available. Candidates located outside of these areas only considered if willing to relocate. Candidates must have U.S. citizenship or a permanent residency card in the U.S. to be an eligible candidate for this opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop business development and sales strategy and tactical growth planning in partnership with company leadership
  • Identify partnership opportunities and develop relationships to foster new business opportunities
  • Create capture plans for existing and new potential partners
  • Monitor and guide proposal development along, with pricing and resourcing; ensure accurate and timely proposal submission as well as proposal submission process training
  • Manage business development opportunity pipeline
  • Continually improve partnership close rate through optimization of marketing/sales materials, white papers, case studies, proposals and meetings, as well as related partners
  • Work with marketing department to develop and oversee sales materials and prospecting campaigns
  • Oversee organization vehicle strategy in collaboration with leadership
  • Drive research and analysis around legislation, GAO/OIG, FPDS and others
  • Own competitive and market analysis efforts and win/loss summaries
  • Lead regular meetings to review pipeline progress and results; analyze data and provide performance reports to leadership group
  • Lead team of specialists to ensure effective execution of partnership development and capture activities
  • Manage external business development resources

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in business development; 3+ years of management experience in government consulting
  • Deep experience and training in sales/business development in Federal Government space
  • Proven success developing partnership pipeline and managing partnership onboarding
  • Working knowledge of Federal contract vehicles and business development terminology
  • Adept at partnership contract negotiation
  • Highly proficient at data collection and analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management skills with high attention to detail
