Seeking a Social Media Coordinator for a large Maryland-based organization

TorchLight is seeking a Social Media Coordinator (Contract) for a large Maryland-based organization. The Social Media Communications Coordinator will be responsible for the creation, administration, content management and advancement of social media and other digital communications in order to increase visibility.

Qualified applicants must be located in the Washington D.C. or Baltimore metro areas and have U.S. Citizenship or a permanent residency card in the U.S. to be an eligible candidate for this opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of social media communications (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) through organic and paid efforts, as well as digital content development (blogs, website, etc.)
  • Perform administrative/clerical duties in support of these communications efforts, e.g., maintain database, lists and records; manage website content and updates which may involve some graphic design or desktop publishing, coordinate postings, produce multimedia files, presentations, audio/video recordings, photographs
  • Oversee social media editorial calendar, including but not limited to writing, editing and publishing social content. Work with a combination of internal and external communication teams and materials, along with conducting factual research to assist in content development
  • Measure, track and report on social media engagement, paid performance and relevant data periodically to executive staff of OCME
  • Train co-workers to use social media in a cohesive and beneficial way to help further enhance the digital & social goals of OCME
  • Monitor the CME website and Facebook page for comments, requests, etc. and respond as appropriate.
  • Work with internal teams to triage comments as needed

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of college coursework and some related experience required
  • Working knowledge of paid social platforms
  • Ability to develop and optimize campaigns, analyze and talk to data findings and make recommendations based on audience targets and available assets
  • Experience with social media management tools to build social content calendars, monitor & engage and report out on performance
