TorchLight seeks a Senior Business Development Manager (Contract-to-Hire) to drive revenue growth across sponsorships, digital advertising, and job board sales for a leading membership association. The ideal candidate brings direct sales experience, excels at both renewing and growing sponsor accounts, and works collaboratively with internal marketing and content teams. This is a hands-on role for an accomplished sales professional eager to contribute immediately. Ideally, one with experience in legal sales (selling into law firms, legal technology/services, or legal associations)
Location:
Hybrid schedule, 2 days onsite in the DC-metro area, 3 days remote
U.S. citizenship or a permanent residency card in the U.S. is required to be an eligible candidate for this opportunity.
Employment:
Contract-to-hire role. Full-time, 37.5 hours per week with a suite of benefits available.
Rate/Salary Range:
$47 to $53 per hour
Note: Rates and salary ranges are commensurate with experience, certifications, industry knowledge, and technical skills and abilities
Role responsibilities:
- Drive sponsorship sales for major events and smaller year-round programs
- Expand digital advertising and job board sales by collaborating with marketing and content teams to promote opportunities
- Renew, maintain, and grow relationships with current sponsors and advertisers while prospecting new business
- Develop effective sales messaging and materials in alignment with brand guidelines
- Negotiate sponsorship and advertising agreements, prepare contracts, and coordinate invoicing
- Maintain accurate records and reporting in client databases
- Identify and pursue new market and product opportunities, staying current with industry trends
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure sales initiatives support overall organizational goals
Skills and experience:
- 5+ years of experience in sponsorship or digital advertising sales, with at least 1 year focused on legal sales (selling into law firms, legal technology/services, or legal associations)
- Demonstrated success achieving or exceeding sales targets and managing sponsor/advertiser relationships
- Hands-on experience in sales execution (prospecting, pitching, closing, and renewing sponsorships/ads)
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
- Experience collaborating with marketing/content teams
- Familiarity with association or membership organizations (preferred)
- Experience with job board ad sales or B2B advertising (preferred)
