What Our Team is Thankful For

During this season of gratitude, the TorchLight Team has a lot to be thankful for—family, friends, fulfilling work with great clients and candidates, and so much more. Read on to learn what each of us is grateful for this year and beyond.

Heidi Parsont, CEO and Founder

I’m thankful for the opportunity to live abroad with my family for a year while having an amazing team in place to run the day to day workings at TorchLight. I’m so lucky to have a team that respects and enjoys each other every day.

Also, I’m thankful for the opportunity to have some ‘me’ time which is not something I am used to.  I have more quality time with my children and husband and the chance to become friends with people of all nationalities. I am thankful for the opportunity to explore the world around us and learn what it has to offer.  Many lessons learned so far in 2019 with many more to come in the future!

Julie Lowe, Chief Culture Officer

This Thanksgiving, I’m grateful for many things related to family, friends and good health. This year, I am particularly thankful for celebrating my Mom who turns 90 on December 28th.  I love her dearly and while we live so far from each other, hearing her voice on the phone and seeing her on our visits brings such love and joy to my life.

I am thankful for the gift of remote work. Two years into working for a fully remote company, and I can honestly say that the remote work has had a tremendous impact on the quality of my life. I am able to be more fully present as an employee, mom, wife, and friend. I’m healthier physically, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. And I’m encouraged to find time and opportunities to explore my passion of increasing awareness of neurodiversity in the workplace. Remote work allows me to live out a truly integrated life – and I’m so grateful for it.

I’m grateful for family and good health. I’m so thankful to have an extremely close family. Not only my husband and two boys, but also my parents, sisters, in-laws, niece and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and 98-year old grandmother. And health – pretty much every one of them (including grandma!) is in good health which is such a blessing.
