Calling All Former/Current Journalists: Bring Your Passion for News & Culture to Shape High-Impact Events

Are you the go-to person for the latest trends in business, tech, politics, and culture? Do you have an insatiable appetite for podcasts, breaking news, and up-and-coming voices across every industry? We’re looking for a media-savvy maven to join a DC-based speaker's bureau as a Speaker Recruitment and Research Manager. You’ll be the cultural pulse of the company, identifying fresh, thought-provoking speakers who will inspire audiences and drive dynamic conversations across various sectors. If you thrive on staying ahead of what’s next, this is your chance to bring groundbreaking voices to the stage. This person will play a pivotal role in sourcing and recruiting speakers who inspire and have the potential to create impactful change.

Location:
Onsite in downtown Washington, DC. Only candidates from the DC-metro area will be considered. U.S. citizenship or a permanent residency card in the U.S. is required to be an eligible candidate for this opportunity.

Employment:
Onsite, full-time, Direct Hire opportunity in the DC office.

Role responsibilities:

  • Stay ahead of trends and monitor current events, politics, business, and culture to identify thought-leaders, newsmakers, and emerging voices who will inspire diverse audiences and elevate client events.
  • Actively identify and recruit speakers that align with current events, trends, popular interests, and client requirements.
  • Partner directly with the CEO, COO, and Sales team by researching and delivering new ideas, making connections, and doing initial outreach to potential speakers.
  • Play an active part in the growth strategy of the company by consistently identifying and recruiting high-quality speakers.

Skills and experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in a related field: media relations, PR, strategic comms. 
  • Ridiculously high EQ.
  • Aggressive and tenacious research skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A deep interest and passion for politics, media, and current events.
  • Proactive and highly motivated, with impeccable attention to detail.
