Seeking a strategic B2B/B2G Events & Marketing Account Manager at an award-winning agency
TorchLight is seeking a strategic Events & Marketing Account Manager with at least 6 yrs of experience in managing events, developing marketing content, and managing demand generation programs at an award-winning agency in Alexandria, VA. This position will manage everything from event strategy/design, marketing, and execution for B2B and B2G clients. NOTE: only candidates who have event planning and event marketing backgrounds will be considered.
Location:
Flexible WFH opportunity with onsite attendance for events. Candidates must be in the DC metropolitan area. U.S. citizenship or a permanent residency card in the U.S. is required to be an eligible candidate for this opportunity.

Role responsibilities:
- Work closely with top executives to develop client-specific strategies and manage meeting and event details to meet client objectives
- Draft timelines, work plans and budgets and participate in client meetings to assess needs and scope of work
- Lead project management for full events including attendee marketing and website development, registration, program development including abstracts and moderator questions, logistics for in-person events, speaker outreach and preparation, and sponsor management
- Report on operations results and lead ongoing performance optimization
- On-site management of client events
- Manage and train team members; serve as direct manager for 1-2 team members; demonstrated ability to nurture team skills and happiness/job satisfaction
Skills and experience:
- 6+ years’ of B2B or B2G agency (or similar) experience with technology event experience strongly preferred
- Track record of managing strategy and execution of events – both in-person and virtual – large and small
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Strong project management skills and an eye for detail
- Strong working knowledge of client subject matter, including fluency in the terms, issues, trends, happenings, news and innovation in the government IT industry
- Experience with digital marketing campaign execution
- Experience with forecasting, planning, and managing budgets
