Seeking NY-Metro based Head of Communications with high degree of fashion, lifestyle, and spirits experience across culturally relevant brands
We are on the lookout for a Head of Communications for an award-winning global integrated communications agency. The successful individual will devise strategic brand communications strategies, highlighting a portfolio of iconic lifestyle brands across fashion and spirits categories. This individual must be strategic, culturally savvy, possess a solid network in the New York metro area, and have significant leadership and media skills. Candidates should have a deep understanding of the global media landscape, be adept in pitching and securing high-impact placements, and can provide strategic influence across clients and teams.
Location:
Candidates must be based in the NY Metropolitan area. U.S. citizenship or a permanent residency card in the U.S. is required to be an eligible candidate for this opportunity.
Employment:
This is a full-time, Direct Hire opportunity, offering a flexible work schedule with work-from-home (WFH) options.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic development of communications strategies for multiple lifestyle accounts within the fashion & spirits portfolio
- Oversee the development of news-worthy pitches, content and media angles that generate coverage in traditional, digital and social media platforms
- Deliver expert counsel and strategy across client portfolios
- Provide clear direction and mentorship for mid-level leaders
- Oversee earned and paid media approach leveraging deep industry network of media, influencers, and cultural leaders
- Participate in senior leadership team setting tone and business direction
- Identify new client opportunities for agency growth through a network of industry contacts
- Evaluate and report on media measurement efforts, ensuring campaigns meet objectives
- Stay updated on industry trends informing fresh, forward-thinking strategies
Skills and Experience:
- 12-15+ years of lifestyle communications experience in an agency setting; candidates without agency experience WILL NOT be considered
- Proven track record of delivering successful lifestyle integrated communications campaigns, particularly in the fashion and spirits categories
- Experience working with mainstream media, social media, and national media event coordination.
- Demonstrative experience coaching, leading, and managing others
- Excellent public speaking, writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
- Sophisticated understanding of consumer and cultural trends
- Strategic thinking abilities, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work in a high-paced, rapidly changing environment
- Adept at business development and account management
Salary: $180k-$200k, depending upon experience
