Seeking talented Social Media specialist for remote healthcare non-profit (Contract-to-Hire)

TorchLight is seeking an experienced Social Media Manager to support cross-functional communications and marketing departments at an Alexandria-VA based healthcare non-profit (role is REMOTE). Our ideal candidate will manage the day-to-day responsibilities of all social media platforms (FB, LI, Insta, and more), draft engaging content, perform editing for social images, and videos. Qualified individuals should have 5+ years of demonstrated expertise in social media marketing with a strong portfolio of examples (copy and graphics) to share.

This position is fully remote. U.S. citizenship or a permanent residency card in the U.S. is required to be an eligible candidate for this opportunity. 

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with a flexible 37.5-hours work-week schedule.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop a social media strategy in coordination with the Director of Social Media for marketing and communications campaigns
  • Manage the organization’s social media channels; implement social media advertisements; provide ongoing reports on social media performance
  • Provide innovative ideas for campaigns and initiatives based on best practices and data-driven insights
  • Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner, and monitor customer reviews
  • Identify potential partnerships with social media ambassadors and influencers – both individuals and groups

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience coordinating social media, communications, marketing, writing, and editing for an organization
  • Proven record of creating engaging content, driving results on social media, and effective use of graphic design and video editing tools
  • Professional experience using content management systems such as Hootsuite Enterprise and WordPress
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with social media analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Hootsuite Analytics, Brandwatch, Later, etc.)
  • Knowledge of the public health or healthcare field is preferred
